The kindest sympathies are extended to the bereaved husband and family. The funeral took place on Monday, Rev. Mr. Haig officiated. The deceased was sixty two years old."
The Orillia Times dated April 3, 1902 (Archives of Ontario microfilm N39 Reel 47)
"Died, at the family residence near Eady on Friday, March 21, Elizabeth Graham, beloved wife of George Thomson. Deceased was born November 24, 1839 at Langholme, Dumfriesshire, Scotland and was consequently in her 63rd year. Her father was William Graham of Carlesgill, Dumfries. Three members of Mr. Graham's family made their homes in Canada, of those, John Graham died a few years ago since in Campbellford, while a sister, Mrs Waugh, of Hillsdale still survives. Mr. and Mrs. Thomson were married in 1860 and came to this country in the spring of 1869, making their home in the Township of Oro, Simcoe County, subsequently removing to the 11th Concession of Medonte, which has since continued to be their residence. Five children were born in Scotland, two sons and three daughters, all of whom are married, while three sons and six daughters were born in Canada. All fourteen still survive and all were present at the bedside to receive their mothers farewell blessing, with the exception of David, who resides in Winnipeg. Mrs. Thomson had always enjoyed remarkedly good health until about five weeks prior to her death, when she had an acute attack of heart disease. From the first she believed that her illness would prove fatal, even though the symptoms did not appear such as to cause serious alarm, and her many friends confidently hoped for her ultimate recovery. Their hopes were not realized. On Sabbath of the last week, the disease began to make rapid progress and on Friday in the presence of her family she peacefully passed away. She retained her faculties right to the very last and was able to speak a farewell word to each and all. Her illness was borne with Christian patience and resignation and in her death "She was not, for God had taken her." So peaceful was her appearance as she lay in the casket that to more than one were suggested the words "He giveth His beloved sleep" A large concourse of friends attended the funeral on March 21, her remains being laid away in Fair Valley Cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. A. McD. Haig, B.A., pastor of Willischurch, of which Mrs. Thomson was a member. The deceased will be greatly missed, and the sympathy of the entire community goes out to the sorrowing husband and family at this their sore bereavement. Thoughtful and considerate of the best interests of others, she made many friends, who because of her excellent qualities of mind and heart highly esteemed her friendship. Those who best knew her will long continue to hold her memory sacred, and though we say she is gone, she is still with us in her many works and labors of love and in the influence for good she exerted not only on her own family, but on all those associated with her. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: yae, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow them."
Graham, Elizabeth (I13881)

2293 In the early 1900s, Buffalo was a center of the aesthetics movement called pictorialism, which sought to create photographs that were as artful as paintings; often their images were characterized by a dreamy quality and soft focus.
Sipprell became one of the foremost practitioners of pictorial photography in the United States. She produced autochromes (color) and platinum, bromoil, gum, and carbon prints; won awards in exhibitions; and had her work published in magazines in the United States and Europe.
As a portrait photographer, Sipprell sought to convey a sense of the whole person and what made each unique. She also photographed landscapes, still lifes, female nudes, major individuals in the arts and government, and people in countries in which she traveled, including Yugoslavia, Italy, Russia, Mexico, and Sweden.
In 1915, Sipprell, then thirty, moved to New York City with Jessica E. Beers, with whom she lived until 1923. She opened a photographic studio in Greenwich Village and eventually became a contract photographer for the Ethical Culture School, where Beers was a principal. Clara became widely renowned. The New York Times called her "the photographer of the great and near-great of the 20th century."
Around 1937, Phyllis Fenner (1899-1982)--a writer, librarian, and anthologist of children's books--became Sipprell's housemate and traveling companion. This relationship continued through the final thirty-eight years of Sipprell's life. In the mid-1960s, they had Harold Olmstead build them a house in Manchester, Vermont.
Clara Sipprell died in April 1975 at the age of eighty-nine. Her ashes are buried in a plot near an outcropping of rock in Manchester. Attached to the rock is a small bronze tablet on which, in accordance with her wishes, are engraved her own name along with the names of Jessica Beers and Phyllis Fenner.

History of Mabel Adeline (Smith) Kriter: (provided by daughter Jane McColl)
Mabel was born August 30, 1897 in Minto Township, a daughter for William and Fanny Smith and a sister for Norma.
Mabel spent her early years in the Minto Township area. At the age of 15, in 1912, she finished high school. She was too young to enter Teachers College so Mabel stayed home for one year. Her mother was a seamstress and held classes so she helped out.
Mabel entered Stratford Normal School at 17 and finished at 18. She taught two years in Palmerston; one year in Chatham and two years at Kerr Road School, Aldborough Township, Elgin County.
Mabel married Reuben Kriter in 1921 where they took up farming. They had two sons and one daughter, Donald, Bruce and Jane. Donald died from an accident in Manitoba where he was working for an oil drilling company in 1951.
Reuben died in 1956.
In 1959, Mabel returned to the Kerr Road School teaching all grades in a one room school house until 1965 when schools amalgamated.
In her retirement she has travelled extensively on many guided tours. She has been to the East and West Coasts of Canada as well as Alaska, Bermuda, Florida, various European countries, England, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland, France and Italy.
Mabel has been commended for her lovely needlework and quilting abilities throughout her life.
She was the last surviving member of the senior ladies Sunday School class at Churchville.
She was a valued member of the Evangelical United Brethren and held many offices in the WMS (Women's Missionary Society) which was organized in 1923; she taught Catechism to the young children's group.
Mabel is currently a member of the Rodney United Church and UCW (United Church Women's Group).
