- Received his education at Rippowan School in the Hawarden district. Saskatchewan and Chatham School near Kenaston, Saskatchewan. Moved to the Kenaston district in 1929. Served in the Canadian Armed Forces during World War Two, 1941-45. Farmed in the Meuse School district near Kenaston. Was living in Kenaston in 1961 when his father died. Purchased a house in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1979. Lived in Hawarden, Kenaston and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Buried in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Garden of the Apostles, Plot 430-B1.

BAIRD - The death of Robert Thomas Baird age 68 years of 103 Penryn Crescent, Saskatoon occurred suddenly in a local hospital on Saturday, July 29, 1986. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. from the Chapel of the Saskatoon Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Janet Brown. (Memorial donations to the Saskatchewan Heart Fund or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated in lieu of flowers). Surviving are his loving wife Ellen; one son Kenneth (Margaret) of Kenaston, Sask.; one daughter Sharon (Terry) Stodler of Saskatoon; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Jodi, Jayson, Scott and Jamie; one brother Jack of Saskatoon; and one sister Doris Deaver of Saskatoon; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother. Robert was born in Hawarden, Saskatchewan on October 8, 1917, where he resided with his family. In the spring of 1929 they moved to Kenaston. Robert served in the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII. Most of Robert's life was spent farming in the Meusa district east of Kenaston till his retirement to Saskatoon in 1979. Robert served on the Co-Op Board for several years and was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kenaston Branch. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
