  Marie came from Norway and was adopted into the McDonald family in Canada. (in Marie's Notice of Marriage to Harold Baird Glendinning, she listed her adopted parents as her parents, John McDonald and Lina Hay, also that Marie was born in Rainy River, Ontario). Susan (Gallacher) Glendinning has a cover with a note in Norwegian and a date of 21 July 1907 for Marie, it is not known if this is her birth date or her date of adoption. A check of the Winnipeg City Directories from 1946 to 1975 showed Marie living at 350 Ferry Road from 1946 to 1966 and at 229 Collegiate Street from 1967 to 1975 (Collegiate is one block east of Ferry). Her sons lived with her at 350 Ferry Road. Marie worked at the Golden Gate Restaurant 1962 to 1965 and at Rae & Gerry's 1966 to 1973. She was listed as retired in 1974 to 1975. In 1949-51 she was listed as a widow. Marie's name was listed as Glendenning 1946 to 1966 and Glendinning 1967 to 1975. Mrs. Glendenning is survived by five sons, Edward, Harold, Richard, Brian and Ralph, all of Winnipeg. A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday July 19, 1975 in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. J.H. South officiating.
