Name at registration was Alexander William, his gravestone has William Alexander. Was living in Burk's Falls, Ontario in 1928 when his sister Violet died, in 1948 when his mother died and in 1948 when his uncle Thomas T. Thomson died and in 1962 when his sister Janet Margaret died. Buried in Burks Falls Cemetery, Armour Township, Perry Sound District, Ontario, Canada. (from the Janet Marilyn (Parsons) Mason collection) William Alexander Edwards William Alexander Edwards of Burks Falls, Ontario died at Mississauga General Hospital on June 27th, 1980 in his 74th year William (Bill as he was known to everyone) was born in Raymond, Watt Township, Muskoka, on December 30th 1906. He received his early education in that locality then moved with his parents in 1915 where he continued his education at Wiseman's Corners. In 1939 he married Alexandra MacArthur of Burks Falls. For many years he owned and operated his grocery store on the main street of Burks Falls where he faithfully served the public by making strangers as well as friends welcome. He was a member of All Saint's Anglican Church, a part president of the Burks Falls Lions Club, a member of the Corona Masonic Lodge and a member of the Oddfellows Triumph Lodge. Left to mourn his loss are his wife Alexandra MacArthur, his daughters Sandra and Rose Mary, sons-in-law Ross Harman and Harry Kirwin, grandchildren Susan, Bill and Craig Kirwin, Christopher, Kim, Heather and Michael Hawman all of Mississauga. Also surviving are four sisters, Robena Parsons of Burks Falls, Beatrice Wurm of Magnetawan, Edna Litster of Englehart and Dorothy Eaton of Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held July 1st, 1980 in All Saint's Anglican Church, Burks Falls. Interment took place in the Burks Falls Cemetery.
