From Valley City [ND] Times-Record: "Dorothy Outram, 91, formerly of Tower City, and Valley City, died June 18, 2008, at a Lisbon hospital...... Dorothy Lavina (Crandell) Outram was born Aug. 2, 1916 near Carrington, ND the daughter of Wellington and Caroline (Westerlund) Crandell. She attended school in various places in the area. On Nov. 1, 1934, she married William G. Outram. The couple farmed near Tower City until 1954 and then moved into Tower City. They later lived at Dugway, Utah, and Sierra Vista, Ariz. In 1972 William retired and they moved to Valley City. Dorothy was employed as a nursing assistance at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. Mr. Outram died in 1985 and she made her home in Valley City until recently, when she became a resident at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin. Survivors include -ter: Cloyce (Elizabeth) Outram, Silverdale, Wash.; John Outram, Vero Beach, Fla.; Douglas Outram, Hammett, Idaho; Roger (Kae) Outram, Tucson, Ariz.; James (Teresa) Outram, Chambersburg, Pa.; and Linda M. Petersen, Nampa, Idaho; a brother, Dorman Crandell, Minneapolis, Minn.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son Steven Wayne Outram, nine siblings, and four grandchildren."
